Jeanne Doerneman Obituary

Jeanne Marie (Bloomquist) Doerneman, age 65, of Norfolk, Nebraska, passed away on April 27, 2026, after a five-year battle with kidney disease.

Home for Funerals in Norfolk was in charge of arrangements.

Jeanne Doerneman was born on June 20, 1960, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She lived a full and hardworking life, known for her resilience, versatility, and dedication to her family and community.

Jeanne was truly a "jack of all trades," a woman who could do just about anything she set her mind to. Her career reflected that same spirit; she embraced every role with determination and strength. Graduating from Northeast while being a single mom, she later worked as a bookkeeper, worked at Dale Electronics, welded fire trucks at Smeal Fire & Apparatus, helped raise cattle, and later served as Director of Norfolk Public Transportation, where she made a lasting impact. She also volunteered as an Ambassador for the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce.

Jeanne will be remembered for her strong work ethic, independence, fierce card playing, and deep love for her family.

She is survived by her mother, Geraldine Bloomquist; her siblings, Lisa Dasher and Lynette (John) Keene; her children, Seth Bossard and Shannon (Stacie) Bossard; her beloved grandchildren, Samuel Bossard and Sydney Bossard; nephew Cody Bloomquist; and niece Karissa Dasher.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Bloomquist; and brother, Michael Bloomquist.

Jeanne's life was one of perseverance, adaptability, and quiet strength, leaving a legacy that will not be forgotten. Prior to her passing, she was blessed with celebration of life with family and friends. Her generous spirit will live on through her organ and tissue donation.

In lieu of cards or flowers, a donation can be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the Make-a-Wish foundation.
