Jeffrey Bear

Funeral services for Jeffrey Bear, age 46, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue, in Norfolk. Reverend Cal Kapels, will officiate, with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.

The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Jeff passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Faith Regional Health Services, with loved ones by his side.

Jeffrey Allen Bear, son of Greg Bear and Susan Klawonn, was born June 16, 1978, in Norfolk, Nebraska. He attended Norfolk Public Schools and later earned his GED. On October 11, 2008, Jeff was united in marriage to Jody Bateman in Lincoln, Nebraska. They were blessed with one daughter, Rachelle Bear.

Jeff resided in Norfolk all of his life and was self-employed as an auto mechanic. He was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church. Jeffrey was very involved in his daughter’s life and school activities.

He is survived by his wife, Jody Bear of Norfolk; children, Rachelle Bear, Alexis Harmon, Kaden Bear, Danny Harmon, and Ethan McKibbon all of Norfolk; mother, Susan Bear; and his siblings, Jamie Bear, John Bear, Rosie Bear, and Justin Bear.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Greg Bear; cousin, Tony; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
