Jeffrey "Jeff" D. Speidel

Memorial Services for Jeffrey D. “Jeff” Speidel, age 56, of Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk.  Reverend Cal Kapels will officiate. 

Visitation with family will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue. 

Inurnment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. 

Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

He passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Jeffrey Douglas was born March 9, 1969, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Douglas and Twylia (Lamprecht) Speidel.  Jeff was baptized on March 30, 1969, and confirmed on May 15, 1983, at Christ Lutheran Church.  He graduated from Norfolk High School in 1987.

On September 26, 2003, Jeff married Carrie Merchant.  The couple was blessed with two children, Sam and Ellie.

Jeff is survived by his children, parents Doug and Twylia Speidel, siblings Jason (Sheila) Speidel, Stacy Speidel, Anna DeHaven, and Josh (Tracy) Speidel, and nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Melvin and Maxine Lamprecht and Don and Jeanette Speidel, sister Sarah Speidel, and uncle Gregg Speidel. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
