Jennie Mae Kilburn, age 93 of Randolph formerly of Yankton, SD, died on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Randolph, Nebraska. She was born July 28, 1924 in Yale, Oklahoma the daughter of James and Pauline (Brown) Gatewood. She attended schools in Oklahoma and Missouri and graduated from Central High School in St. Louis, MO.
On November 15, 1942 Jennie married E. Nelson Kilburn at Bixby, OK. The couple made their home in Bixby while her husband Nels served in the United States Navy during World War II. The family eventually moved to South Dakota living in Pickstown and finally moving to Yankton, SD.
Jennie enjoyed cooking which led her to work in many restaurants specializing in pie making. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, and quilting. Much of her time was spent quilting at the Yankton Senior Center. Jennie moved to Randolph, NE in November 2017 and resided at Colonial Manor of Randolph.
Surviving is her son, James and Jo Kilburn of Randolph; 3 Grandchildren Jeremy Kilburn of Omaha; Julie and Josh Schreiber of Lanesboro, MN; Jennifer Kilburn of Tulsa, OK; 3 Great Grandchildren Joelie, Jessie and Jentrey Schreiber of Lanesboro, MN.
Preceding Jennie in death are her parents, husband E. Nelson Kilburn on September 2, 1992; 1 Great Grandson Jay Andrew Schreiber; 2 Sisters Iamogean Ward and Betty Jo Cowan.
