Joan E. Stenger

Mass of Christian Burial for Joan E. Stenger, age 71, of Genoa, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk. Reverend Gregory Carl will be the celebrant, with interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk. 

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church with a 10:00 a.m. Rosary. 

Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.

She passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Genoa Hospital Long Term Care Center.

Joan was born November 4, 1953, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Walter J. and Marjorie C. (Cook) Stenger. She graduated from Norfolk Senior High School.

Joan was an avid Husker football fan and enjoyed collecting jewelry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Mary Ellen Stenger; niece, Stacey Rich; and aunts and uncles.

Joan is survived by her siblings, Mel (Joan) Stenger of Morse Bluff, Gene (Ida) Stenger of Fontanelle, Marv (Katy) Stenger of Cedar Bluffs, and Nancy (Bill) Rich of Norfolk; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
