Judy Anne Kollmar, age 80, of Norfolk, Nebraska, passed away on July 15, 2025.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Home for Funerals, 1203 W. Norfolk Avenue in Norfolk, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.
Visitation with family begins one hour prior at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to wear yellow—Judy’s favorite color—symbolizing the ray of sunshine she brought into all our lives.
Judy was born January 22, 1945, in Hood River, Oregon, to Russell and Ruth (Kleckner) Clocker. Judy graduated as valedictorian from Stanton High School in 1963 and Norfolk Junior College soon thereafter. She married Elton O’Dell Kollmar on December 18, 1964, at the Methodist Church in Norfolk.
Judy was a meticulous seamstress and tailor for over 40 years—working at The Golden Rule and J.M. McDonald’s in Norfolk before opening her own business, Judy’s Tailoring, in Colorado. She returned to Norfolk in 1991 to care for her father, later working at Herberger’s and most recently serving as a family support worker with Oasis Counseling.
Judy is remembered for her deep kindness and appreciation of the simple beauties found in nature. A loving caregiver to all creatures—including cats, dogs, squirrels, and birds—Judy sought medical care for them and cherished their companionship, no matter how long they stayed. She loved jigsaw puzzles, board games, card games, and storytelling with family. Since 2009, she served on the Great American Comedy Festival committee, always sharing her laughter and positivity.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Ruthie Kollmar of Norfolk and Kristi (Kollmar) Lawson of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Kalie (Kollmar) Wankum, Gabe Lawson and Landon Lawson; great-grandson, Owen Wankum; and brother, Darrell Clocker of Broken Arrow, OK.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously invites donations to Furbaby Rescue Midwest, Inc. or the Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska, organizations whose missions aligned lovingly with Judy’s dedication to helping animals in need.
