Judy A. "Judy" Thaden

Funeral services for Judith A. “Judy” Thaden, age 63, of Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2024, at First United Methodist Church in Norfolk. Reverend Neil Gately will officiate, with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk. 

Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue, in Norfolk. 

Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.

She died suddenly Friday, November 29, 2024, at her home in Norfolk.

Judy was born on March 27, 1961, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Valere and Bonnie (Hammond) Thaden. She graduated from Fredonia High School in Fredonia, NY.

Judy was a valued employee and an awesome team operator for 16 years at Appeara in Norfolk.

Judy was an avid reader and was always positive and caring in support of family and friends. She loved watching the Antiques Roadshow, shopping at the Goodwill or Thrift stores, and going roller skating. Judy had a memorable laugh that was infectious and an entertaining way of telling stories, real or imagined. Her loving kindness will be missed.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Val.

She is survived by her mother, Bonnie; siblings, Valery (Robert) Reinke of Burlington, NJ, Clare (Lonnie) Kleensang of Norfolk, and James Thaden (Luz Sanchez) of Spencerport, NY; niece, Christina Landis; nephew, Kevin Thaden; and great-nieces, Brianna Mae and Hailey Rose.

Memorials are suggested to Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska or Norfolk Rescue Mission.
