Karla Jahn

Funeral services for Karla K. Jahn, age 78, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2026, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Reverend Robert Wiest will officiate, with interment in New Lutheran Cemetery in Norfolk.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.

Karla passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Arbor Care Centers-Countryside in Madison.

Karla Kay Jahn was born July 20, 1948, to Lawrence and Lucille (Bretschneider) Jahn in Norfolk, Nebraska. When she was three years old, the family moved to Long Beach, California and lived there for seven years. Then, the family moved back to Norfolk.

Karla graduated from high school and started working for John Mrsny when he had chickens and she did babysitting for relatives. She worked at the Norfolk Nursing Center for 16 years, then it changed to Golden Living. After the ownership change, Karla went to work for the Heritage of Bel Air for 15 ½ years. She loved working for the residents. 

Karla retired to take care of her mother when Lucille broke her leg. 

Karla enjoyed playing softball and bowling.

She is survived by her mother; extended family; close friend, Marjorie Hartford; and godson, Chris Maurer and his son Connor.

Karla was preceded in death by her father and relatives.
