Kathy M. Korth

Mass of Christian Burial for Kathy M. Korth, age 65, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk. Reverend Pat McLaughlin will be celebrant, with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue in Norfolk, with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary.

Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.

Kathleen Mary “Kathy” (Vondenkamp) Korth went to be with her heavenly father on July 26, 2025, after battling her 13-year illness. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Kathy was much to so many with her wonderful smile and attitude. Her faith, along with her dedication to her family and love for others, made her cherished by everyone she knew.

Kathy was born on May 19, 1960, in Holdrege to Eugene and Arlene (Mangers) Vondenkamp. In her childhood years, Kathy got the opportunity to move around and lived in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Kansas before settling in Norfolk in 1973. She made Norfolk home and graduated in 1978 from Norfolk Senior High.

In 1979 Kathy married the love of her life Mark Korth on her parents' anniversary. To this union Kathy and Mark had two wonderful children Jill in 1982 and Joseph “Joe” in 1985. Kathy’s family meant the world to her.

Kathy blessed so many with her employment at various places from her younger years working at JM McDonalds clothing, Herberger's, Plaza Barber Shop, Elegance Nails - later Elegance Head to Toe, Visible Changes, and Escape Spa, before operating her own business Nails by Kathy inside Hair Expressions.

In her later years, Kathy loved being with her grandchildren, Charles “Charlie”, Cali, Brea, and Baylor. She continued to spoil them anyway she could. She loved buying them gifts, taking them out for a snack, and most of all spoiling them by indulging in her love for them. Kathy enjoyed her time during the summer at Medelman's Lake camping and being on the pontoon with family and friends. Kathy also enjoyed traveling to Padre Island, Texas, and Fort Meyers Florida.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Mark Korth; daughter Jill (Kory) Hildebrand and her grandchildren Charles “Charlie”, Cali, Brea, and Baylor Hildebrand all of Norfolk; parents, Eugene and Arlene Vondenkamp of Beatrice; siblings, Linda and Keith Rohde of Norfolk, Mike and Shawn Vondenkamp of Marion, KS, and Brenda and Steve Durman of Beatrice; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Korth; and numerous family members and friends.

Kathy’s life is a great testament to her faith, family, kindness to one another, with her wonderful laugh and smile.

Pallbearers will be Charles Hildebrand, Jeff Braithwait, Doug Korth, Rob Mangers, Mike Vondenkamp, and Jeremy Stenger. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Kathy’s nieces, nephews, and coworkers.
