Kelly Lee Wehrle was born to Betty and Leroy Wehrle on June 12, 1955, in Lincoln, NE. They moved to Madison, NE when he was five. He attended Madison Elementary and Madison High School, graduating in 1973. Kelly worked with his dad and Uncle Alf through high school doing mason work, as Wehrle Brothers Construction. He attended Northeast College and Platte Community College. Kelly began working at Sherwood Medical in Norfolk, where he worked for 25 years before retiring. He and his father opened a golf shop, Kel-Lee Golf Shop making custom made golf clubs as well as golf club repair. He was always interested in helping in his community, serving on several boards in both the community and church.
Kelly enjoyed sports, playing softball, bowling, and golf. He felt blessed to be a part of his son Nick's 12w racing team. The four greatest loves of his life were his faith, family, the Huskers, and watching his grandkids work hard and reach high goals in their activities. From softball, track, basketball, volleyball, soccer, football, and showing horses, he tried not to miss any of the activities and could be found enjoying a bag of popcorn in the front row.
He is survived by his wife, Kay, son, Nick (Stephanie) Wehrle of Battle Creek; daughter, Marinda (Brandin) Mcallister of Elgin; daughter, Kayla (TJ) Belmont of Madison; nine grandchildren: Jaid, Kinnley, Ryder and Sawyer Wehrle; Kaitlyn (Tanner) Dozler, Collin and Cameron Mcallister, Benton and Hannah Belmont; great-grandchildren, Aspen and Bridger Dozler; brothers, Mike (Monica) Harney of Clarkson and Roger (Denise) Wehrle of Sioux Falls; sister, Karen (Denny) Tilton of Crofton; and brothers-in-law, Larry (Rita) Lindahl and Craig Lindahl of Tilden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Betty Wehrle; grandparents, Alfred and Grace Wehrle; grandmother, Dorthy Wolske; brother, Scott David Wehrle; and mother and father-in-law, Gerald and Mary Lindahl.
Kelly wanted to leave his family and friends this message: Please celebrate my life… don't mourn it. Remember how very much I loved you and how proud I was of all of your accomplishments!
