Funeral services for Kenneth Herley, age 96, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Reverend Paul Hirsch will officiate, with burial in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Norfolk.
Military honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1644, American Legion Post 16, and Army National Guard Honor Guard.
The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Kenneth died Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Premier Estates in Pierce, Nebraska.
Kenneth Eugene Herley, son of Oswald and Susie (Hague) Herley, was born April 16, 1928, at Clearwater, Nebraska. He was baptized and confirmed at the country Lutheran church near Clearwater. After his graduation from Neligh High School in 1946, Kenneth served in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany from 1951 to 1953.
After his discharge from the Army, Kenneth worked at various jobs, including Wilbert Vault Company, and Dudley Laundry, where he met Lorene Krueger, who would later become his wife. He and Lorene were united in marriage on November 6, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Foster, Nebraska. They were blessed with two daughters, Julie and Janie, and 69 years of marriage.
In 1970, Kenneth and Lorene moved to Norfolk, where he worked for the City of Norfolk in the water department, before retiring at the age of 70. Kenneth was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. He loved attending auctions and was always fixing things or working.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Lorene; daughters, Julie (Jeff) Suckstorf and Janie Giambruno; grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, and Jacob Suckstorf; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Blake, Myles, Maci, Camilla, Gracelynn, Sawyer, and Abi; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Reed (Emily) Herley and Arnie (Mary) Herley; and sisters, Vera (George) Leu and Betty (Vernon) Parks.
