Kenneth "Ken" Chapman Obituary

Memorial Services for Kenneth L. “Ken” Chapman, age 76, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Norfolk.  Reverend Doug Shelton will officiate, with inurnment in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk. 

Visitation with family will be one hour prior to service at the church. 

Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements. 

Ken passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Heritage of Bel Air in Norfolk, after a brief but valiantly fought battle with pancreatic cancer. 

Kenneth Lee was born June 14, 1948, in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Virgil and Dorothy “Dottie” (Etherton) Chapman. He graduated from Norfolk Senior High School in 1966 and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Electronics from Northeast Community College in Norfolk. 

On March 2, 1968, Ken married Donna Hubel at the First Baptist Church in Norfolk. 

Ken worked as an architect for Chicago Lumber, Century Lumber, and was employed at Norfolk Iron and Metal for 28 years.

Ken was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Norfolk Antique Auto Club. He was an artisan woodworker who enjoyed creating beautifully crafted knives and other wood carvings. Ken also loved restoring antique cars and was a talented artist creating beautiful drawings with colored pencils. 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna; daughters, Marla (Lyle) Warner of Sartell, MN and Melody (Ken) Klitzke of Rogers, MN; five grandchildren, Kyle, Cameron, and Nate Warner and Boston and Nixon Klitzke; two great-grandchildren, Banks and Sutton; siblings, Connie (Jerry) Gerling of Norfolk, Gene (Cheryle) Chapman of San Antonio, TX, John (Cherie) Chapman of Dallas, TX, and Nonya (John) Martin of Springdale, AR; sister-in-law, Jan Chapman of Vermillion, SD; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jere Chapman; and brother-in-law, Norris Anson.
