Kerry Sullivan Obituary

Kerry J. Sullivan, age 58, Norfolk, Nebraska, formerly of Frisco, Texas, died Friday, November 24, 2023, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.

No services are planned.

Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.

Kerry Sullivan was born in Albion, Nebraska, on November 18, 1965, to Charlotte and Dennis Sullivan. She was baptized at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Her education began at St. Michael’s elementary school. Kerry graduated from Albion High School in 1984 and attended Kearney State College. After a year she moved to Texas. Frisco, Texas had been her home since 2001. She was an MRMT in Addison.

Her pets Khloe and Toby shared her home. As an animal lover Kerry donated time with the SPCA for many years. Weekend time was spent at Union Gospel Mission in Dallas, a women’s and children’s shelter. When called, she delivered for Meals on Wheels in Frisco. If work time allowed, Kerry watched Nebraska and Cowboys games. Kerry made many trips to Albion, and later Norfolk, where her mother, late father, brother and his family lived. She especially enjoyed spoiling her niece and nephews when she came for Christmas and birthdays. Her first “gone fishing” experience was with them.

Kerry moved to Norfolk to live with her mother when she became ill a year ago. Mom’s neighborhood suited her quite well. Being in Norfolk’s downtown area, visiting the “Y” and the library helped fill her time. Even though she was ill, she rarely let it affect her attitude.  Kerry attended many sporting events while here. She enjoyed her niece’s and nephew’s football, basketball, and volleyball games which she attended with her mother. She was also an awesome taxi driver, when needed, and logged many miles picking kids up from school or practice or PT and taking them where they needed to go. She had a really great instructor who schooled her on the intricacies of Norfolk’s high-traffic areas, where the pothole-filled streets were, and how to navigate the Mickey D’s drive thru like a NASCAR pit stop. Kerry was battling an illness that took a toll on her, and the reason she had to be here was awful, but we all were happy that she got to spend so much time here. We kind of got used to having her around.

She left many friends and Dena and John in the Frisco area.  High school friends were in contact and visited her in Norfolk recently.

Surviving Kerry are her mother, Charlotte Sullivan; her brother, Shannon and his wife Michelle their children Charlie, Sam and Willow; and her sister, Dena (John) Moore.

She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; and also her father in 2012.

One thing Kerry liked to hear was “give it all you got”, and that is what she did.
