A Celebration of Life for Larry E. "Larry" McGrath will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the VFW in Norfolk.
Lawrence Edward McGrath, known to many as Larry, passed away on January 10, 2026, at his home in Norfolk, Nebraska at the age of 66. He was a beloved father, brother, and friend whose warmth and creativity left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Larry found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved playing the drums with his band, performing under the stage name “Buck Lawrence.” He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, restoring cars, watching comedy shows, and most of all, spending time with his family.
He attended Sargent High School and later the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and psychology.
Throughout his career, Larry worked as a Food and Beverage Manager at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Omaha, Nebraska. He also owned and operated a business known as “Larry’s Mainstreet” and previously worked as a maintenance man at the Norfolk Group Home.
Larry is survived by his children, Erin Johnson and Adrian Perske; and siblings, Kenneth McGrath of Omaha, Michelle McGrath of Norfolk, Jennifer Nadkarni of Evans, GA, Kyle McGrath of Omaha, and Chad McGrath of Norfolk.
He was preceded in death by his son, Cole McGrath; father, Lawrence McGrath; and mother, Sandra McGrath.
Arrangements were entrusted with Home for Funerals in Norfolk.
