LeAnna Peterson Obituary

LeAnna May Peterson, age 87 of Stanton, died Friday April 20, 2018 at Stanton Health Center. She was born May 16, 1930 at Beemer, Nebraska the daughter of Victor and Mathilda (Suhr) Siebrandt. She attended Stanton County District #44 near Stanton then attending St. John's Lutheran School near Beemer and Stanton County Dist. #19 near Stanton and finally attended Stanton High School. She had an older sister LaNell and twin brothers Loren and Loring. She had a wonderful childhood with so much to do climbing bluffs, boating, fishing and playing in the water. After high school LeAnna worked at West Point, Bancroft, Pender and Pilger. She worked at Nielsen's Café in Stanton.

On September 5, 1948 LeAnna married Eldon Ray Peterson at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stanton. The couple made their home in Battle Creek where Eldon was employed at the local Butcher shop, living there until 1949 when they moved to farm northwest of Pilger raising cattle and hogs until they retired and moved to Stanton in 1991.

She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Stanton; Past member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Pilger; Life member of Stanton V.F.W. Auxiliary. LeAnna's hobbies are embroidery, flowers, yardwork, gardening, spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her 2 children Eldon Dale and Margaret Peterson of Cedar Rapids, IA; Sandra Kennedy of Pilger; 5 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister LaNell Hille of Fort Worth, TX.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Eldon in 2011; son-in-law Gerald Kennedy; 2 Brothers Loren and Loring Siebrandt.

Memorials to Stanton Public Library and Stanton Historical Society's - one room school house.
