Leonard Paul Dowling

Leonard Paul Dowling, age 88 of Randolph, died Tuesday August 28, 2018 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. He was born October 24, 1929 at Hartington, Nebraska the son of Lester and Nellie (Dewhirst) Dowling. He attended Pierce County rural school near Randolph. Leonard worked as a farmhand for area farmers.

On February 18, 1951 Leonard married Evelyn Kirstine at Pierce Congregational Church in Pierce, Nebraska. The couple made their first home in Pierce. To this union 3 children were born David, Gregory and Susan. The family moved to farm south of Randolph and then on to farm near Belden for 39 years. In 2010 the Dowling's moved to Randolph. Leonard worked as a Funeral Assistant for Johnson Funeral Home in Randolph for 10 years.

Leonard was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Randolph and enjoyed attending regularly at Randolph Senior Center.

Surviving Leonard is his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Dowling of Randolph; 3 Children David and Denise Dowling of Hartington; Gregory and Darlene Dowling of Randolph; Susan and Jeffery Schultze of Plattsmouth, NE; 7 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren; 3 Sisters Shirley Hewey of Sioux Falls, SD; Genevieve Hyatt of Norfolk; Gladys Patent of Randolph;

Preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
