Lynn Dvorak, son of Otto “Curley” and Florence (Sonder) Dvorak, was born August 25, 1951, in Plainview, Nebraska. He graduated from Verdigre High School and attended the University of Nebraska. In September 1976, Lynn was united in marriage to Dianne (Lehman) Drahota. To this union two children were born, Kristi Lynn (who died in infancy) and Christopher Lynn. They later divorced.

Lynn began his musical career at age five. At age eight, he began playing in his dad’s dance band (Curley’s Orchestra.) He eventually started several of his own bands and finished his career performing solo.

Lynn was a gifted musician and there wasn’t a musical instrument he couldn’t play. He spent his summers working and entertaining in Nebraska, and wintered in Texas where he entertained in resorts and flea markets in the Rio Grande Valley for over 23 years. Among his various roles, Lynn did karaoke for Jim Pile and Sons Distributing and drove for Navigator Bus Lines touring the United States. Most recently, Lynn worked for Porter Construction for several years until the time of his illness in 2023.

During his Navigator Tours, Lynn met his special friend, Teresa Trybus of 17 years from Krakow, Poland with whom he was fortunate enough to tour a large part of Europe.

Lynn, a veteran bandleader, singer/songwriter, and multi-talented musician, had created thousands of great memories for audiences around the USA for nearly 65 years. Starting at an early age, Lynn grew up with the golden oldies of the dance hall era, gradually working his way into pop, early rock n’ roll, country and show tunes from the 40’s, on up to the present. He was privileged to work with many notable entertainers over the years, including such stars as Rod McKuen, Gordon MacRae, Roy Price, Freddy Fender, Mel Tillis, Johnny Paycheck, Dave Dudley, Tammy Wynette, and Myron Floren and JoAnn Castle (of the Lawrence Welk Show.) Lynn recorded numerous albums and CDs and had entertained groups in 36 states and six foreign countries. His ability to read an audience and tailor his performance to that group was unparalleled. Lynn had followers throughout the United States and Europe. He was inducted into the Nebraska Music Hall of Fame in 2017.

Lynn is survived by son, Christopher (Monique) Dvorak of Helena, Montana; stepson, Tony Drahota of Lincoln; sisters, Vickie (John) Sehi of Norfolk and Debbie (Ken) Kucera of Verdigre; grandchildren, Destiny and Landon Dvorak; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Teresa of Krakow, Poland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto “Curley” and Florence (Sonder) Dvorak; brother, Dennis; and daughter, Kristi Lynn.
