Marcel J. Sudbeck was born September 12, 1963, in Yankton, South Dakota to Norman Gerald and Delores Erna (Kathol) Sudbeck. He attended school in Hartington, graduating from Cedar Catholic High School in 1981. Marcel attended Northeast Community College.
On June 7, 1986, Marcel married Debra K. Meirose at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington. The couple was blessed with four children, Zachary, Lukas, Taylor, and Haley.
Marcel worked at Courtesy Ford for 17 years before starting his own company, Sudbeck Underground, where he had the pleasure of working with all of his sons. He was proud of the business he created and loved his work. He would often start his morning with coffee at the Fast Mart, shooting the breeze with the regulars.
Marcel played baseball and softball and coached all of his children in youth sports over the years. He enjoyed travelling, going on cruises with Deb, casino runs, and joint couples’ trips with Diane and Daryl Sudbeck. Above all, family was of utmost importance to Marcel, and he cherished the time he spent with Deb, his children, and grandchildren.
Marcel was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish and the Knights of Columbus.
