A Memorial Service for Margie A. Cox, age 81, of Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church. Reverend Chris Asbury will officiate.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Margie died Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Margie Ann was born January 7, 1942, in Pierce, Nebraska, to Ira and Mabel (Gilman) Cox. She attended Christ Lutheran school in Norfolk before graduation from Norfolk High School.
After school, she worked at Mary’s and then Norfolk Beauty College, where she attended school and later taught, and became a proud business owner when she opened a salon in her own home.
Margie was a dedicated crafter, especially enjoying her crochet projects, and an excellent cook, known for her baked beans and fresh bread.
Margie is survived by her sister, Loretta “Mickie” Tierney of Omaha; daughter, Lisa (Brad) Charter of Norfolk; grandchildren, Benjamin Charter and Felicia (Jacob) Jansen of Norfolk, and Hannah and Faith Chapman of Payson, Arizona; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Rex (2011) and Deano (2020) Chapman; sisters, Susan Curtis and Lula Smith; and brothers, Harlan, Norman, and Harry.
