Mass of Christian Burial for Marvin J. Pfeifer, age 91, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at St. Leonard Catholic Church in Madison, Nebraska. Reverend Gregory Carl will be the celebrant.
Interment will be in the church cemetery with military honors conducted by the Army National Guard Honor Guard, American Legion Post 35, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5763, and the American Legion Riders.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church, with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service.

He passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the Norfolk Veterans Home.
Marvin John was born May 17, 1933, in Madison, Nebraska to Richard B. and Magdalen (Beller) Pfeifer. He graduated from Madison High School in 1952. Following graduation, Marvin served in the United States Army from May of 1953 until April of 1955.
On May 24, 1955, Marvin married Jo Ann Fischer at St. Leonard Catholic Church.
Marvin farmed just south of Madison. He also he delivered for Mid-America Dairy until he retired in 1979. In 1979, Marvin started a haying business that he operated until he retired in 2000. For almost 40 years, Marvin and his family mowed the St. Leonard Catholic Cemetery. He proudly served 20 years as an ombudsman for the Northeast Nebraska Area on Aging and also served on the Newman Grove Co Op Board. Marvin was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing golf and spending quality time with his large family.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; children, Bill (Kathy) Pfeifer of Madison, Mark (Melissa) Pfeifer of Madison, John Pfeifer of Mt. Juliet, TN, Jim (Kim) Pfeifer of Clarkson, Monica Wisby of Norfolk, Chris (Veronica) Pfeifer of Howells, Tom (Lori) Pfeifer of Madison, and Jeff (Lori) Pfeifer of Clarkson; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; siblings, Jack Pfeifer of Omaha, Donna (Larry) Christensen of Kearney, Rita (Michael) Lichtenfeld of Columbus, Judy (Bob) Arlt of Plainview, Terry (Jane) Pfeifer of Madison, Jerry (Marilee) Pfeifer of Dakota Dunes, SD Tim (Sue) Pfeifer of Grand Island, and Allen (Janet) Pfeifer of Madison; sister-in-law, Leona Pfeifer of Norfolk; brother-in-law, Tom King of Newman Grove; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Derek, Nicole, and Brian; daughters-in-law, Sharon Pfeifer and Peggy Pfeifer; son-in-law, Jim Wisby; brothers, David (Mardy) Pfeifer and Richard Pfeifer; sister, Jane King; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Elizabeth Fischer; sisters-in-law, Joan Pfeifer, Ella Mae Fischer, and Arline Mather; and brother-in-law, Lawrence (Verda) Fischer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the family for future designation.
