Funeral Services for Marvin F. Podliska, age 85, of Madison, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church-Green Garden in rural Madison. Reverend Barry Williams will officiate, with burial in Iowa Valley Cemetery in Madison.
Military honors will be provided by Army National Guard Honor Guard, American Legion Post 35, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5763.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.
Resseguie Funeral Home in Madison is in charge of arrangements.
Marvin passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Arbor Care Center-Countryside in Madison.
Marvin Frank was born February 2, 1940, in rural Madison County to Frank J. and Mabel M. (Pospisil) Podliska. He graduated from Madison High School in 1957 and earned an associate’s degree in computer programming from Norfolk Junior College.
In 1961, Marvin married Karen Kamrath at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison. They were blessed with two sons, Mark and Jeff.
Marvin worked as a computer programmer for Northern Natural Gas and the Coastal Corporation maintaining computer systems for payroll for about 15 years. In 1974, Marvin moved his family to rural Madison where he farmed for the next 13 years.
Marvin enjoyed fishing and camping, and spending time with his family. He loved to tell jokes and did so at every opportunity. Marvin served on the Madison County Fair Board for a number of years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Judeen and Frank Knapp, Jr.
Marvin is survived by his sons, Mark (Cathy) Podliska of Madison, and Jeff (Debbie) Podliska of Stanton; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Vernon (Sue) Podliska of Columbus; and nieces and nephews.
