Mia passed away Monday, February 5, 2024.
Mia Renee was born June 29, 2007, in Norfolk, Nebraska. She was later adopted by Keith and Julie (Schenefeld) Redwing. Mia attended Winside High School where she was the President of the FCCLA. She enjoyed attending school activities and cheering on her classmates as they competed. She worked part-time at Sonic and made work fun for everyone.
Her greatest love was softball. She was a proud and valued member of the Norfolk Golden Girls softball team. Mia was always cheering loudest in the dugout as her teammates were so important to her. Her infectious smile and goofy personality ensured plenty of laughs and smiles everywhere she went. She was always the life of the party, and you would been hard pressed to find her without a funny T-shirt or goofy sunglasses. Mia loved her family and always brought a smile to everyone’s faces. She was a favorite among her nieces and nephews as kids were her specialty. Her kind and caring heart will remain with us forever.
She is survived by her parents; siblings, Emily Paris, Jennifer (Adam) Palsma, Mitch (Erin) Hyde, Chris Andal, Daniel Redwing, Julissa Redwing, and DeAndre Redwing; grandparents, Larry and Barb Hoffman; grandmother, Jean Schenefeld; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
Mia was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Walter Schenefeld and Rupert Redwing; grandmother, Carol Redwing; and brother, Andrew Redwing.
