Memorial services for Michael L. "Mike" Tiedtke, age 82, of Stanton, Nebraska will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Stanton. Reverend Lee Weander will officiate.
Visitation with family will be one hour prior at the church.
Home for Funerals-Stanton is in charge of arrangements.
Mike passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Plainview Manor in Plainview, Nebraska.
Michael was born November 3, 1942, to Lyall and Ruth Tiedtke of Norfolk, NE. He was baptized and a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Pilger and later worshiped at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Stanton. Mike attended District 28 in Stanton County and graduated from Pilger High School in 1961 where he was awarded Nebraska All-State Running Back.
Mike loved sports his entire life. He especially loved watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers, San Francisco 49ers, and the New York Yankees. He attended college at Norfolk Jr. College, Wayne State College, and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
On January 4th, 1965, he married the love of his life, Georgia Morisse, in Yankton, SD. They were blessed with three sons.
Mike farmed and fed cattle for 15 years, worked as a realtor at Kerry Rand Realtors of Norfolk, and worked at Stanco Farm Supply. He retired from Hiland Diary in Norfolk after 32 years of service.
Mike had a warm loving personality, a big smile for everyone, a contagious laugh, and was lucky to have many great friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyall and Ruth Tiedtke.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Georgia of Stanton; sons, Todd Tiedtke of Fremont, Troy (Holly) Tiedtke of Omaha, and Jamie (Julie) Tiedtke of Norfolk; brother, Rick (Debbie) Tiedtke of Stanton; five grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
