Starting in 2005 Nick worked as a crane operator at Nucor Steel until his passing. Together, Nick and his father, Walt own and operate Hit’Em Up Indoor Golf Simulator in downtown Norfolk. He has had a love for the game of golf for a long time, and would hit the course as often as he could.
On July 13, 2006, Nick married Kathy Carmichael in Jamaica. The couple were blessed with two children, Abby and Easton.
Nick was an avid fan of all sports. He enjoyed watching the Los Angeles Dodgers and Dallas Cowboys. On weekends you could also find Nick cheering on the Huskers. He loved the game of baseball, which he played while in High School. Nick later enjoyed playing softball, where he gained some lifelong friends.
In the summers, Nick enjoyed his time with family and friends on their pontoon boat at Medelman’s Lake. Everyone enjoyed listening to his song playlists while out boating, and playing washers in the evenings. He was always the life of the party.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, children, Abby, and Easton. Mother, Lin (Al) Gross, father, Walt Humphrey (Linda Hundt), half sister Tammy (Rick) Wagner, and step brother Alvin Gross.
