A Memorial Mass for Phyllis Polak, age 95, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk. Reverend Pat McLaughlin will be celebrant, with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.

Phyllis died Friday, March 6, 2026, at Arbor Care Centers-Countryside in Madison, Nebraska.
Phyllis Arlene Polak, daughter of Benjamin and Anna (Anderson) Schneller, was born February 15, 1931, in Hastings, Nebraska. She attended school in Beatrice, where she graduated from high school.
On November 6, 1948, Phyllis was united in marriage with Lawrence “Larry” Polak in Beatrice. The couple lived in York and Columbus before moving to Norfolk. They were blessed with four children.
Phyllis worked for a time at McDonald’s Clothing Store in Norfolk. She loved to sew and spend time outdoors fishing. She was above all a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her sons, Mike (Bev) Polak and Doug (Jackie) Polak, both of Norfolk; daughter, Mary Heiser of Denver; and grandchildren; Lindsay Lennox and her children Benjamin and Simon, Ellen Felder, Justin and Sara Polak and their child Jackson, Amber Polak, Kelly and Mandy Polak and their children Monroe and Pierce, Aaron and Carrie Polak and their children Linden and Lowen, Riley and Leslie Farah, Natalie Heiser and her children Ryland, Giovanni, and Roman, Derreck and Samantha Henshaw, and their children Bostyn, Waylon, and Beau.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; son Steve; brother, Ben Schneller; sisters, Lois Fraley and Jean Schneller; and son-in-law, Hal Heiser.
