Tom and I were so sorry to hear of Richard's passing. We enjoyed visiting with him about all things politics and history. Thank the Lord for his Christian leadership in the State Legislature and the various organizations he belonged to.
We will be donating $50 to Lutheran High in his memory as he was a faithful donor to the school.
Prayers to you all. Tom and Diane

Richard was a shirt tail relative and always had time to stop and visit about the relatives. He took a great interest in what was going on in the world around us and
new what it would take to improve it-even if politics frequently got in the way.
He invited me if ever in LNK to stop to see him in the capitol and I was able to do
so once and enjoyed the visit.

Richard was serving in the State Legislature when Stan was first elected. He and Kay gave both of us a warm welcome. The time in the Legislature created a bond of friendship that continued long after. My deepest sympathy to family members.

To Richard's family,
We wish to extend our sympathy to you all at this time of losing your Dad and Grandpa.
What a wonderful man he was. If the world situation would be different, we would have come to extend our sympathy in person. Just know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
There would have been a joyful reunion between him and Kay when he joined her in heaven.

My heartfelt condolences on the loss of Richard. When he would visit my workplace we would spend so much time chatting. He loved telling me stories about his wife & children. He would always ask about my newly adopted pup & talk to me about his dog. Great man & I will miss him. RIP Richard.

It was my great privilege to become friends with Sen. Peterson over the years that I served as editor of the Norfolk Daily News. He regularly stopped in to visit and the ensuing conversations about politics -- whether on the national, state or local level -- will be something I'll always remember. He was a dedicated public servant, a loyal Republican and, most of all, a man of faith.

Always engaging, and informed. Dick visited the WJAG studios often up until a few years ago, he will be remembered as a friend of the station and a worker for the greater good of Nebraska and beyond.
I drive by his billboards of inspiration on Hwy 81, I remember when he came in to tell us about them.
My sincere Sympathy, Leanne

The world lost a great man. He was the best neighbor and a favorite of mine. I loved spending time talking with him at my parents' picnic table when he came over to buy eggs. He took such great interest in all my travels and experiences. I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr. Peterson will be greatly missed. God bless~
