Rick died Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Richard Klug, son of Lloyd and Berniece (McMillian) Klug, was born September 15, 1954, in Norfolk. He attended school in Norfolk and Stanton. Growing up, he was active in the Boy Scouts of America and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. On June 1, 1974, he was united in marriage with Valinda Gilman at Grace Lutheran Church. The couple was blessed with two daughters.
A proud business owner, Rick, was an over-the-road truck driver for 45 years. He was a skillful mechanic and talented woodworker, gifting his family with creations such as furniture, and even a swing set. He could always be relied on to repair anything his loved ones needed fixed. Rick enjoyed camping, fishing, listening to music, and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He was known to sneak midnight snacks.
Above all else, family was important to Rick. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was always there to lend an ear or a helping hand in times of need.
He is survived by his wife, Valinda; children, Jessica (Shaun) Clyde and Tristan (Corey) Clyde; grandchildren, Jaceyff, Tierney, Corstan, and Tiarrah; sister, Sharon Fuhrman; aunt, Ella Klug; mother-in-law, Aggie Gilman; nieces, nephews, cousins; and his beloved dog, Boo.
Rick was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his parents; infant son, Shay; brother, Lloyd, Jr.; and in-laws, Norma Gilman and John Gilman.
