Bob passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at his home in Seward, Nebraska, surrounded by his loving wife Dianne and daughter Cheri. Also by his side were his sweet dogs, Sadie and Buck.
Bob was born on February 25, 1942, in Hallock, Minnesota, to Glen and Anna Jones. He graduated from Randolph High School in Randolph, Nebraska, in 1960.
Bob married the love of his life, Dianne McDonald, on November 1, 1986. They have enjoyed over 38 years together. They moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma, and lived there for 23 years.
Bob began his adult life farming, then managed a Gambles Store in a couple of locations. He later trained and worked for the majority of his life in insurance for several different companies. He earned several awards over the years for his dedicated work. Bob loved working with people and helping them plan for the future. In his later years, he also worked part-time for a local Ardmore, Oklahoma, funeral home to be of service to people.
Bob loved to sing in his early years and won several singing talent contests. He often sang at weddings and around the piano with his brother Orlin and his mother accompanying them. He loved planting his garden every year, especially his tomatoes and peppers. Bob was an excellent cook and enjoyed making meals for Dianne and friends. He loved their horses and dogs. Bob also loved being out on the water. Ardmore allowed for many boating activities. Bob and Dianne made so many friends over the years, wherever they lived. They especially enjoyed traveling to visit family in Texas and Washington.
Favorite memories of Bob and Dianne include planning and organizing several of our Jones Family Reunions. He loved having his children, grandchildren, and siblings come together as a family. They loved their life in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and recently returned to Nebraska to be closer to family.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Dianne; children, Rob Jones, Cheri (John) Auletta, Troy (Maggi) Jones, and Jennifer (Kirk) Johnson; twelve grandchildren also survive him: Austin, Shane (Angelica), Logan, and Cash Jones; Aubree, Baylee, and Chadd Auletta; Colton Jones, Cami (Dillon) Ronspies; Jocelyn, Derek, and Trevor Johnson, as well as his two great-granddaughters: Julia Jones and Dylan Jones. He is also survived by his brothers: Rod (Judy) Jones and Glen (Darlene) Jones, and his sisters: Linda (Jerry) Dahlkoetter, Glenda (Tim) Hallberg, and Millie (Ty) Norton; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
