Ronald "Ron" Follette

Funeral Services for Ronald J. “Ron” Follette, age 77, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2024, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue, in Norfolk.  Chaplain Gordon Braun will officiate. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk, with military honors conducted the Army National Guard Honor Guard, VFW Post 1644, and American Legion Post 16. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the chapel. 

Casual attire is requested.

Ron died Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.

Ronald Jay Follette was born November 27, 1946, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Robert and Myrtle (Clausen) Follette. He grew up in the Hoskins area and graduated from Winside High School. 

On June 24, 1969, Ron married Sandra K. “Sandy” May at Westridge United Methodist Church in Norfolk, Nebraska. 

After 25 years of service, Ron retired from Sherwood Medical as a mechanic. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Nicholas Voichoskie; and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandy; daughter, Jeanne Follette of Lincoln; grandchildren, Jon Follette and Cheyenne Gibbions; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Follette, Raelyn Follette, and Thea Follette; brother, Robert “Butch” (Ardyce) Follette of Norfolk; three aunts, Esther Behrens, Margaret Iron Thunder, and Agnes Gilman; and nieces, Kristi Harmeier and Lori Batenhorst.
