Summers were spent walking bean fields and working on 4-H projects where she learned to cook and sew. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1966. While there, she worked for Kansas Veterans Services. In 1979 they returned to Mark’s hometown of Stanton where Rosalie helped Mark establish his veterinary business. She worked for Stanton Head Start and Deets Furniture.

Rosalie participated in St. Peter’s Altar Society and served for many years as religious education coordinator and educator. Much joy came from her family. Whether being together at the farm, fishing and swimming in Canada, or playing board games and puzzles. She called times together “holy moments.” She loved having everyone come for dinner.  Rosalie enjoyed playing bridge with friends, watching the Huskers and Chiefs football teams, and quilting.  Her favorite games were Cribbage and Scrabble, which she usually won. She was known for her German potato salad and pies.
