Sam Vodvarka, son of Lawrence and Evelyn (Wisnieski) Vodvarka, was born March 3, 1950, at West Point, Nebraska. He attended St. Wenceslaus grade school and Dodge Public school, graduating from Dodge High School. Sam then graduated from Electronic Computer Programming Institute of Omaha. He was married to Lynda Anderson on July 20, 1982, at Fremont. Through this marriage, Sam was blessed with two stepchildren, Kelly Horn and Todd Anderson.
Sam lived in Fremont Nebraska and was employed by Automation Inc. of Omaha, First Data Resources, and retired from Valmont Industries. He was also a published author of “The Big Enchilada.”
Sam was a member of the Catholic faith. He was also a member of FEVR-Fremont Elkhorn Valley Railroad. Sam enjoyed running, bike riding, and motorcycle rides with his wife.
Sam passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Heritage of Bel Air in Norfolk, Nebraska.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda; children, Kelly (Deon) Horn of Norfolk, Nebraska and Todd (Shelly) Anderson of Stanton, Nebraska; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Debbie) Vodvarka of Sulphur, Oklahoma; sister, Judy (Jim) Humphrey of Fort Worth, Texas; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Evelyn Vodvarka.
The family will be hosting a Memorial Service for Sam at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 at Heritage of Bel Air Chapel.
