Sharlyn Rae Grashorn, daughter of Vernon and Irene Hausmann, was born April 20, 1944, at her parents’ home in rural Pierce, Nebraska. She graduated from Norfolk High School in 1962 and then attended Joseph’s College of Beauty. Sharlyn was a hairdresser for 63 years. She worked out of her own business, Hair Designs, for the last 32 years.

Sharlyn was united in marriage to Eldon Grashorn on February 3, 1963, in Norfolk. They were blessed with three children, Tammy, Todd, and Tim. Sharlyn loved her family deeply. She loved fiercely, was protective, loyal, and held her family close. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her spirit will live on in everyone’s heart. Her hugs, dance moves, and red lipstick kisses are a few trademarks that her loved ones will miss so much.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk and was involved in women’s league bowling and karate. Sharlyn enjoyed doing ceramics, dancing especially polka dancing, and was a troop leader for Boy Scouts.

Sharlyn is survived by her husband, Eldon Grashorn of Norfolk; children, Tammy (Mike) Mefford, Todd (Judy) Grashorn, and Tim (Jenny) Grashorn all of Norfolk; grandchildren, Tonya (Brian) Brandl, Landon (Lisa) Mefford, Casey Mefford, Calen Mefford, Marissa Grashorn, Morgan Grashorn, Makayla Grashorn, Jacob (Hilaire) O’Brien, Kylie Grashorn, Benjamin Grashorn, and Caleb Grashorn; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Steve Hausmann of Stanton and Pam Anderson of Norfolk.
