Steven passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at his home in Norfolk.

Steven Ray Hansen was born January 25, 1954, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Raymond Dean and Delores May (Kominek) Hansen. He graduated from Norfolk Senior High School in 1972 and earned an Associate’s Degree in Architecture from Northeast Community College.

On March 6, 1982, Steve married Patricia Dreyer at the First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk. They were blessed with three daughters: Audra, Amber, and Annette. The couple later divorced.

Steve worked in various roles and positions throughout his life, the most notable being his construction career in his younger years and several years in the trucking industry.

First and foremost, Steve loved spending time with his family. To know Steve was to know a man whose heart belonged entirely to his family. He was the grandfather who lived for his grandsons, showering them with unconditional love and never missed a single one of their activities. His commitment was a profound gift, one that ensured his family always felt seen and celebrated.

He loved cheering on the Husker Football team and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed camping and taking family vacations. Estes Park and the Black Hills were two of his favorite places to visit.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Keith and Jeff Hansen; and brother-in-law, Ron Wiedeman.

Steven is survived by his daughters, Audra (Tim) Kruse of Norfolk, Amber (Tommy) Hansen-Moore of Newberg, OR, and Annette Hansen of Norfolk; grandchildren, Mason, Myles, Maxton, and Davis; sisters, Denise (Mark) Borgmann of Lincoln and Vicky Wiedeman of Norfolk; sister-in-law, Jamie Hansen of Norfolk; and nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be directed to First Presbyterian Church.
