Sorry I am so pokey. I finally took the time to clear my schedule and watch the service and look at the pictures. I quickly realized that Steve and I talked way too much about fishing, hunting and our other guilty pleasures and not enough about our kids and grandkids. You have a beautiful family and I am sure Steve was very proud of your gang. I'm also sure you will miss him dearly, as will I. Steve and I spent way too much time together in college and not enough in the years that followed. Karen and I will always be eternally grateful for Steve getting us together at OSU. We, like many others, are what we are today because we knew Steve Uzzell. God Bless.

I've known Steven through grade school and high school. I thought he was the kindest person in our class.of '64.

Jane, Emily, Janell and Ben: Our deepest condolences. We were very sad to learn of Steve's passing. His personality was larger than life. Our families shared friendships, track meets (in cold weather), and many gatherings. Steve has left each one of you such a legacy. He will be remembered as a man of faith, who loved his family, his God, and his community with all of his heart. All of our love to each one of you! John & Nancy

Sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I was honored to have a large part in the ceremony when he joined the Plainview Masonic Lodge. He gave me a really comforting prayer when we had a loss in our family. Our sincere sympathy is with your family at this time.

We are so very sorry for your loss of Steve.....Steve was pulpit supply several times at Park Congregational United Church of Christ west of Elgin where I attend. I always enjoyed his visits and messages and how he so easily related to those of us involved in agriculture, although we didn't have a lot of young people, he loved to 'talk shop' with my daughter who had a masters in ruminant nutrition, it seemed to me that he related especially well to young people. It was obvious to me he had a big heart and a great faith. Our sincerest sympathies.

Dear Jane and family. So sorry for your loss. Steve was a good hearted man and encouraged me a lot. I remember our times at First Congregational and was so proud of him when he told me the news that he had become a lay minister. I still have the 2 foot tall pepper grinder that he gave me years ago :) My thoughts and prayers are with you this Christmas season and I hope you may remember all the good times with him.

We were saddened to hear of Steve's passing. I am grateful he and I were able to develop a friendship, brief as it was, and share a few but special passions. God bless him on his way.

I have the pleasure of knowing Steve’s daughter, Emily, a strong, lovely, warm woman. If our children are an indication of who we are, then I know Steve was a great person as I saw it through his daughter. My condolences to the entire family. May his memory be a blessing.

Jane and family: I am glad to have known Steve in Norfolk when I was at First UMC, ans we would go together to the Hilltop for a weekly lunch, conversation, and even, occasionally, talking about our sermons for that week. We shared stories, and it was always a good experience. I continued to see him once in a while after I retired in 2014. Please know I will keep you in my prayers. May God bless and keep you.
