Terry passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at his home in Stanton.

Terry Lee Dahlkoetter was born March 16, 1945, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Rudolph Herman and Elizabeth Ellen (Brooke) Dahlkoetter. He graduated from Stanton High School in 1965.

On July 27, 1968, Terry married Sandra Whitehurst at the Faith Lutheran Church in Stanton. The couple adopted three children in 1990.

Terry loved traveling on family vacations where they visited all 48 continental states. He and Sandra continued to travel after their children grew up and left home for their own adventures. Michigan was one of their favorite states to visit time and again. They loved Lake Michigan’s historic lighthouses and clean, uncrowded beaches. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Detroit Lions and Tigers, and Boston Celtics through thick and thin. He started following the Detroit Tigers in the 1950’s when Al Kaline wore #6. Terry was a longtime member of the Harvest Church in Norfolk. His proudest moment was a mission trip to the Philippines in 2002.

He is survived by his children, Christy (Michael) Clay of Bassett, NE, Kenney Dahlkoetter of Stanton, NE, and Clifford (Blanca) Dahlkoetter of Blue Springs, NE; grandchildren, Landon Dahlkoetter, Elijah Clay, Andrea Dahlkoetter, Lucas Clay, and Isaiah Dahlkoetter; brother, Gale Dahlkoetter of Homer, NE; sister, Sharlyn Kirsch of Norfolk, NE; and five nieces and nephews as well as various great-nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and brother-in-law, Greg Kirsch.
