Theodora T. “Thea” Svenson

Funeral services for Theodora T. “Thea” Svenson, age 87, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue in Norfolk. Pastor Terry Buol will officiate.

Burial will be in Bega Cemetery in Stanton, Nebraska at a later date. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. 

Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.

She passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Theodora Therese Svenson was born in Germany on March 27, 1938. On July 26, 1958, Thea married Ronald E. “Ron” Svenson in Germany.

Thea is survived by her children, Sabine (Edlef) Schlottke Schaffert of Germany, Juddy (Steve) Muessel of Norfolk, Linda (Leon) Hahn of Grand Island, Marliese (Terry) Bruggeman of Sioux Falls, SD, Leif (Tammy) Svenson of Sioux Falls, SD, Malcolm Svenson of Lincoln, Thor (Jody) Svenson of Hoskins, and Freija (Keith) Gross of Missouri; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ingrid and Hildegard; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, son, Edward; infant daughters, Barbara and Brigette Svenson; and two brothers, Erich and Gerhard.
