He was confirmed at the Lutheran church in Wolsey, South Dakota, where he spent his childhood and attended school, graduating from high school in 1975. Upon graduation, Tim joined the U.S. Army. During his service, he was stationed in Korea and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After discharge in 1978, he moved to Gary, Indiana. In 1981, Tim returned to school at Wyoming Tech for diesel mechanics.
In 1982, Tim moved to Norfolk, Nebraska. Over the years, he worked for Great Plains Diesel, Alumax, and ethanol plants, and drove buses for Navigator. Additionally, he started his own business, Tim’s Parking Lot Maintenance.
On November 10, 2007, Tim was united in marriage to Diane Bouza. The couple worked together as an over-the-road trucking team. He loved the freedom of being on the open road. Tim was a collector of many things, but he especially had an eye for tools and knives. He enjoyed working on projects and mowing the lawn.
