Timothy "R. "Tim" Wiese

A Memorial Mass for Timothy R. Wiese, 78, Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk. Reverend Vincent Germace will officiate, with burial in All Saints Cemetery in Columbus.

There will be a luncheon following the Mass at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 105 Elm Avenue, in Norfolk.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.

Tim died Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Faith Health in Norfolk.

Timothy Raymond Wiese, son of Raymond and Ollie (Coufal) Wiese, was born November 14, 1947, in Humphrey, Nebraska, while his family lived on a farm in Lindsay. He primarily grew up and attended school in Columbus. After high school graduation in 1966, he began school at Norfolk Junior College before attending Peru State, where he played baseball.

On June 14, 1969, he was united in marriage to Patricia McCarville. They were blessed with three children, Stephanie, Tim Jr., and Nick.

At age 15, Tim began working at a grocery store, a career that carried him through most of his life. His work took him to Grand Island, Columbus, Minot, ND, and Rapid City, SD. He was a hard worker who took good care of his family. He was a huge supporter of his children in their athletics through the years and was a loving and proud grandfather.

Tim loved the great outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, and camping in his free time. He was a longtime sports enthusiast with a special place in his heart for baseball and the Yankees, though he also was a fan of the Chicago Bears, and of course, the Huskers.

Tim is survived by his wife Pat; children, Stephanie (Brett) Heffes, Tim (Kate) Wiese Jr., and Nick (Nicole) Wiese; grandchildren, Madisen, Calvin, Tienna, Tavani, Imogen, Jamison, Gavin, and Collins; siblings, Pat (Susan) Wiese, Mary (Jeff) Searcy, Steve (Tracy) Wiese, Cindy Martin, Theresa (Tom) DeLaet, and Chuck (Julie) Wiese; in-laws, Debb Strate, Mike McCarville (Sheri Goodhard), Denis (Theri) McCarville, Mary Lu (Tim) Euler, Kevin (Joanie) McCarville, Jim (Stacie) McCarville, Teri (Ken) Petersen, Tom (Lisa) McCarville, and Mark (Rebecca) McCarville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ollie; parents-in-law, Mac and Emily McCarville; brother, Ted Wiese; and brothers-in-law, Alan Martin and Larry Strate.
