Graveside Services for Vera V. (Watson) Olson, age 100, of Creighton, formerly of Norfolk, will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Utica Cemetery in Utica, NE. Reverend Elias Mukindia will officiate. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
She passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Avera Creighton Care Centre.
Vera Virginia was born October 11, 1922 in Seward County, Nebraska to Emmett and Elda (Christian) Watson.
On February 5, 1949, Vera married Glenn Olson in Reno, NV. The couple was blessed with two sons, Roger and Michael.
Vera worked as a telephone operator in Lincoln. In 1964, the family moved to Norfolk, where Vera worked for JCPenney’s for 9 years. Then, she worked at Sherwood Medical until retirement in 1987.
Vera enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She is survived by her son Michael (Sherry) Olson of Creighton, daughter-in-law Janie Olson of Norfolk, grandsons Colby and Brandt (Teresa), and great grandchildren Savannah, Cheyenne, and Charlee.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Roger Olson, grandson Cory, two brothers, and one sister.
