Memorial services for Vilia M. "Vi" Leapley, age 78, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Reverend Lee Weander will officiate, with burial in Magnet Cemetery in Magnet, Nebraska.
The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue, in Norfolk.
Vi died Saturday, June 8, 2024, at her residence.
Vilia M. “Vi” (Young) Leapley was born May 31, 1946, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Mary (Macklin) and Christopher Young. Her twin brother was deceased at birth. Vi grew up on a farm near Magnet, Nebraska. She attended and graduated from Randolph High School in 1964. After graduation Vi moved to Norfolk, Nebraska where she resided the rest of her life.
Vi married John Leapley on January 9, 1965. To this union, John and Vi were blessed with two children, Annette and Michael.
She started a career in direct sales in 1973 called Home Interiors & Gifts. This association took her to many places across the United States and blessed her with friends far and wide. Vi rose in the ranks as she loved serving people and helping others to grow their careers. She was with Home Interiors for over 35 years.
Upon retirement, Vi started a new career with Miracle Ear. This time ended up spanning over 15 years. Vi’s love of serving and helping people showed in the relationships that have endured over time.
Her life was busy traveling spending time with loved ones and family. Although she had plans for many more adventures, illness took its toll.
She lived a life of love, fun, and making memories with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Michael Leapley of Denver, Colorado and Annette (Doug) Reiman of Ft. Pierre, SD; grandchildren, Griffin Leapley, Dan (Kelsey) Reiman, Tyler (Emily) Reiman, and Allison (Adam) Engbrecht; five precious great-grandchildren, Ryan, Mila, and Adley Engbrecht and River and Ridger Reiman; sister-in-law, Delores Young; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Vi was preceded in death by her parents, Christoper and Mary Young; twin baby brother, John Leapley; brothers, Gary Young and Gene Young; sister-in-law, Shelby Young; and daughter-in-law, Beth (Read) Leapley.
