Funeral services for William H. “Bill” Siedschlag, Jr., age 83, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue in Norfolk. Reverend Gordon Braun will officiate, with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.
Bill passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk.
William Harlan Siedschlag was born November 11, 1942, in Norfolk, Nebraska to William, Sr. and Doris (Nenow) Siedschlag. He graduated from Norfolk High School and attended Northeast Community College.
In 1965, Bill married Linda Meyer at Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk. The couple was blessed with three children, Julie, Jeremy, and Jeff. They later divorced.
In 1991, Bill married Jan (Holcomb) Jansen.
Bill enjoyed being outdoors where he could fish and hunt. He loved his family farm in Stanton County. Bill was an avid Nebraska and Minnesota Vikings football fan.
Bill worked at the Post Office in a variety of roles from 1965 until retirement in 2002. He farmed his entire life.
He is survived by his wife Jan; children, Julie Siedschlag of Norfolk and Jeremy (Mandy) Siedschlag of Norfolk; stepchildren, John (Michelle) Jansen of Elk Point, SD, Chris (Nan) Jansen of Pierce, and Shanna (Brian) Rastede of Hoskins; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son Jeff (2021); and sister, Marlene (Dr. John) Butler.
