So sorry to hear of your loss. Dan and Connie enjoyed visiting with him and seeing him at the YMCA. Dan always enjoyed seeing him when he came to swim at the pool. He was always understanding if the pool was closed for any reason . Fred was a great person and will be dearly missed by us all.

I never attended the Norfolk Public Schools, but my wife, Betty did. I became acquainted with Fred when I would sit with him at some NHS basketball games. One time, he proudly showed me his gold pass that enabled him to attend any NSAA activities. Another time, there was a district game at Norfolk Catholic. When Fred entered, the gym was packed. When I saw him searching for a seat, I motioned to him that I could make room for him. When he got to the seat, he told me that any detentions he had given my wife were forgiven and then he told me he had never had to give her a detention. What a sense of humor! Betty and I had a great visit with him one day awhile back when we saw him at Bel Air. What a great life and career he had. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Jeri: I also knew your mother, Lorena Whalen, as I was the Human Resources Manager at the Norfolk Regional Center during the latter part of her employment there. She was a nice lady and I enjoyed working with her.
