Phyllis, Missy and Eric - We were very sorry to learn of Fred's passing. Your family was wonderful to our family in so many ways. Fred was one of my first golf partners as we settled into Norfolk and we became fast friends right away. Fred was just a decent man and an excellent businessman and community leader. Fred and Phyllis, you were meant for each other. We remember fondly our summer trips to Okoboji, KC, etc. and many gatherings in Norfolk. Fred will be sorely missed but, Missy & Eric, he leaves a legacy in you two that will endure. John & Nancy Gerrard

Dear Phyllis - so sorry to learn of Fred’s passing. I remember well your love story together from the very beginning, and clearly you two were meant to be. Both of you chose well, and I know you made each other very happy. Thinking of you, and all the good times.
- Susan

My condolences go out to Fred's family.
I was a classmate of Fred's at Sacred Heart and Burns High in Norfolk. He was a good friend. He was involved in so many good things for the community. I want to thank him for his work in Big Brothers, his service in Vietnam, and for his help with funeral arrangements for my deceased family in Norfolk. I am headed to church tonight, for prayer services and I will keep Fred and his family in my prayers.
A friend and fellow VIetnam vet,

Phyl,
Donna and I learned of Fred's passing via the Dailey News and are thinking of you, Missy, and Eric. I had the opportunity of spending some quality time with Fred during my time in Norfolk and learned he was one of those unassuming heroes that I was fortunate to come upon. During the serious moments, discussing surviving war to the, Hey Larry I got one for when ever we ran into each other." Fred was very dedicated t you Phyl, often speaking of how fortunate he was to be with you. He will be greatly missed.
Take care
Phyl and family
