Dear Jean and John,
Losing one's mom has to be one of life's hardest burdens. I would know the freshness of that wound as my mom Pat passed away in March of this year also. Our deepest sympathies go out to you and your families. We have fond memories of Pierce and the times your parents spent at our parents' houses, especially at Christmas Eves. Your mom was never without a smile and was such a gracious lady. Our favorite memory was the time that both your parents went with Marian, Norman, and us to Lake Powell with my mom Pat. The seven of us spent a week floating from one end of the lake to the other. Doug and I had our two seadoos and explored all the small channels while the older folks played cards and relaxed. Norman caught his first fish there and my mom didn't tell him she knew how to fillet it...from her meat market days with my dad. He ended up with enough flesh to have a little taste of that fish, but it was pretty sad job of skinning it if I remember correctly. When your mom moved to Norfolk, Doug, Marian and I stopped to visit on several ocassions. I know she kept a phone conversation going with Marian every week. Our parents live on in our memories and hearts and through our own children. You were blessed by having your parents in your lives. Take care, Leslie
